Today's Krugman: French Social System, Employment Model More Productive, Family-Oriented than American (NYT)
DUH.
But still, it's nice to see a Professional American Economist writing about it in a mainstream media outlet (albeit one most likely read by people who already know about this comparison).
I think Krugman is trying to cement a following among would-be expatriates.
(He's doing a fine job of it, as far as I'm concerned.)
Who in their right mind would want to work for an American company (or even a French company in the US, which can enjoy worker-unfriendly US regulations), instead of going to France or Finland or wherever? ...I guess that's why it's so hard to get work visas or residency permits for Europe...
